Delivery Policy
1. Delivery Placement & Access
- Driveway-Only Policy: We only dump products on a hard, level surface (asphalt or concrete driveway). Drivers are generally prohibited from driving onto lawns, unpaved surfaces, or dirt due to the risk of the heavy truck getting stuck or leaving deep ruts.
- Overhead Clearance: You must ensure there are no low-hanging power lines, tree branches, or building overhangs. Dump trucks need significant vertical space to tilt their beds.
- Marking the Spot: It is highly recommended to mark the “dump zone” with a tarp, cones, or chalk. This ensures the driver places the pile exactly where you want it if you aren’t home.
2. Fees and Minimums
- Delivery Fees: Range by zones as a flat rate within a certain radius.
- Minimum Orders: 1 cubic yard minimum for bulk delivery.
- Cancellations: 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. If delivery isn’t possible once driver arrives we have the option to keep the delivery payment as non-refundable.
3. Liability and Damage Waivers
- Property Damage: We are not responsible for cracked driveways, damaged pavers, or property damage. The weight of a loaded truck (which can exceed 30,000 lbs) can easily damage thin or aging asphalt.
- Curb-Line Limits: Many municipal policies prohibit dumping mulch on public streets or sidewalks. If you request a street delivery, you may be responsible for any city fines or for moving the mulch within 24 hours.
4. Weather and Timing
- Rain or Shine: Deliveries usually proceed in the rain. Note that dyed mulch (black or red) requires 24–48 hours of dry weather after being spread to “set” the dye; if it’s delivered or spread during a heavy storm, the color may wash off.
- No Exact Times: Due to traffic and previous stops, we provide a 2 Hour delivery window (e.g., 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM) rather than a specific arrival time.
5. Homeowner Checklist
| Task | Action |
|---|---|
| Clear the Way | Move all cars out of the driveway before the truck arrives. |
| Check the Ground | Ensure the dump site is not on a steep slope, which can cause the pile to slide. |
| Protect the Surface | Lay down a large tarp to make cleanup easier and prevent temporary staining from dyed mulch. |
| Inspect Upon Arrival | Check the color and quality before the driver dumps the load, as returns are usually impossible once the mulch is on the ground. |
