EXAMPLE:
Mulch bed measures 4’ wide by 50’ long. Mulch to be applied at 4” deep.
Multiply 4’ wide by 50’ long = 200 square feet. Find 4” thickness on chart to find square feet coverage, which would be 81 square feet. Now divide 200 square feet by 81 square feet and you would need 2.46 yards of mulch.
